Lagniappe Seminars, founded in 2001 and based in Monroe, Louisiana, is run by Wayne
and Anne Melvin,P.T. "Lagniappe" is a Cajun word, meaning "a little something extra"
which is what we hope to provide at each seminar.
Anne has been a practicing physical therapist for more than 30 years with experience
in a variety of settings including 3 years as a full time instructor at the University
of Central Arkansas Dept. of Physical Therapy. She has lectured in geriatrics throughout
her career, beginning with a class at the University of Central AR Dept. of PT. After
moving to Louisiana, where Anne served as director of physical therapy in an acute
care hospital, she began her independent practice. Anne and Wayne started Melvin
Physical Therapy, Inc., an outpatient clinic in West Monroe, LA. They, also, began
contracting physical therapy services for home health, nursing homes and clinics
in NE LA. She and Wayne have developed and published patient education booklets/information
sheets on diabetic foot care, home safety/fall prevention and low vision tips which
are used in clinics in several states.
Anne stresses a multidisciplinary approach for patient care through these seminars.
After these seminars you will be better equipped to make a significant difference
in the lives of your patients, friends and family members.
